Many of you that are into specialty handgun hunting need no intro to this man. Mark Hampton is probably one of the very most worldwide experienced handgun hunters in the world. There are not to many places on the planet Mark has not hunted with handguns.

He has authored many books on handgun hunting and is currently the editor of Sixgunner magazine.

He contacted me with the pics of his buck on top and his wifes buck and wanted me to post the pics on LRH. I did not get alot of data on the bucks or the hunt other then his buck was taken with a 308 Win I build for him in Missouri and his wife took her buck with a 6.5 WSM I build as well.

Both are great bucks, Marks is a VERY nice buck!!!

Just thought you would like to see some pics of nice deer.

Great pictures. Mark's articles have all ways been very informative and great to read. My first LRP was purchased from Mark, his HS Precision 308, Still got it and still hunt with it some.
thanks for posting the pics , Kirby , you build one fine looking LRP. ever do any work on the HS's?

Sweet bucks--man that guy's a helluva HG hunter!!

In the '08 issue of Guns Magazine Annual there's an excellent article by Mark regarding the SP's entitled, "Quarter Mile Handguns". There are at least 2 rigs there that were built by APS.

In the Spring '07 issue of Dakota Magazine (Dakota Arms) Ernie Bishop authored the best technical long-range handgun shooting article i've ever read entitled, "7mm Dakota". In there he details his APS 7 Dakota XP. 2 pics. of some of the best LR HG shots i've ever seen made were in that article--2 1st shot connections at 613 yds. and 1000 yds. (lost a dinner on that 1000 yd. shot).

There will be another article on that APS XP coming up in the next issue of Handgun Hunter magazine (if the editor ever gets it going again), entitled, "Puff Really is a Fire-Breathing Dragon."

Steve, you should know better than to bet against a preacher, Theyhgot more than luck on their side!!!! Read that article, that was some kinda shootin. Ernie did.

It would be great if one of you guys who knows him would extend an invite to this site.

I have visted with Mark for several years via phone email and hte SP forum. I will invite him to LRH. He is a really nice guy and a very succeful SP writer and hunter. His wife hunts with an SP also some of the time anyway also.

Len,

I have several times, like many he lurks from time to time but is a very busy guy.

I will extend the invite again. He would be a great value to the site. He has forgotten more about handgun hunting then I will ever know!!!

Thanks

Thank you for the invite. I appreciate Kirby for posting the pictures of our whitetails taken here in Missouri.

Kirby has built four XPs for me and they all perform beyond my expectations.

This is a great sight with an abundance of knowledge from many experienced shooters. Along with many others, I appreciate all the input. Thanks--Mark

Mark nice looking bucks, just wanted to say your father was one of the main reasons that I got interested in hunting. He was our family doctor years ago, can still remember looking at his fish mounts on the wall in his office. He even let me see his mounts at his house. There were things that I still have no idea what they were. Small small world. Oldfamily.

Mark,
Glad you showed up.

Welcome Mark, look forward to your conversations and remarks here at long range hunting. I wish I could still get HS's at the deal you gave me, but those times are long gone. That black LRP is still one of my favorites, it shoots great with handloads or factory. I used it the year I bought it from you to take an Oryx in NM, again welcome to the forums
