Magneto speed sporter

I am starting down the road to building a rifle. FWIW, the donor is a savage 10 in 7mm WSM.

I am going to shoot the factory barrel and work up a load. Is a chrono necessary and is the magneto speed sporter a good candidate?

In short, yes and yes.
Data is always important when doing load development, as it can explain a lot. Some education is required to get the most out of the exercise.

I'll vote necessary? No. But definitely nice to have. As for the magnetospeed. I use mine quite a bit and it is very handy. But every time I strap that thing to a rifle I kind of wish I would have saved up for something like the Labradar.
