M16 extractor source

Who is the preferable source for m16 extractors these days? I have a sako in a factory 700 chambered in 338 ultra that I want to upgrade to m16.
I've found them at p t&g and from Chad Dixon, and I want to put in the best possible.

I wouldn't think a .378" size extractor would be used on a .534" case head??? The largest you would be able to buy today would a 458 SOCOM extractor for a .473 case head. At one time, there were .514" extractors for the 50AE case, but those were ridiculously thin and prone to breakage.
Whatever you get, you need to test it for rim-bind (pic 1). A standard M16 extractor has a back-cut to allow clearance for the barrel extension lugs. On a 5.56 bolt, it's cut all the way across the back of the hook. That doesn't need to be done, and just weakens the extractor, so the best 458 extractors are not cut in this manner resulting in a much stronger extractor. (Pic 2 short back-cut) In a 700, maybe you don't need that back-cut at all and you're just talking about an M16 "Style" extractor.

I have had Chad do it at LRI and it's fine. If you know who he is then you know it will be done right.

PTG is ok too. I have the mini-m16 with them.

If you're sending it to LRI, you might as well get the bolt and action trued up too. Imo
