LRKM - 3000 yard setup w / supressor

One other question. Have you thought about a method that would allow a left handed shooter to shoot this gun if it were right handed and vice versa?

I shot the prototype model. It is a left handed model and I am a right hand shooter with a dominate right eye. Shawn made a ambidextrous cheek rest. It was fine and I was making hits at 2550 yards.

I love it when I see accuracy with such precision!! When I get a round to hit dead center my precision usually fails to impress, and when I have an excellent group it usually falls just off of center.

Wish I could afford one of those........

Shawn I see the velocity of that lovely one hole group is only 3000fps I thought you were get 3120fps + in the p + edge ? Also how do you find N570 in different temp?

THe Bertram brass runs a little less capacity than the Remington brass (5 grains H2O) it is a little slower and this was the load with the best accuracy. You can run it harder but I didn't want to. The N570 is is good from 22 to 104 degrees where I tested it, like 4 fps difference.

Scot E - It will be tough to do with the supressor, with a muzzle brake no problem runs 15 lbs.

Jeff - The ATACR is nice but unless you need the extra moa (I do) the NXS will serve most people just as well forless money. The ATACR has better glass, more moa etc but in the field I just don't see where it has much of an advantage over the nxs unless you need the adjustment.
Is the 16.6 lbs with the ATACR and bipod? Dropping to the NXS would save you 7 oz. That means I would only have to shave off 3 more oz. That seems doable.

Scot E.

Changing to an Atlas bipod would likely take care of the rest! Good to know it is at least possible.

I saw that final testing isn't complete but any idea on longevity of the suppressor before repairs or replacements are needed?

All I cna tellyou about can life is that it is made entirly from titanium and I expect the life to be pretty good. How long that is I don't know, sorry.

Well, this is getting to be even more interesting!

I've been watching the whole LRKM/338 +P set-up for a while now. Especially because I'm thinking that my traditional 338 Edge is fast approaching a time for a new barrel. And I've been really interested in getting a 338 Suppressor, as I have a .30 caliber suppressor now and what a difference it has made!

I look forward to more reports on your suppressor set-up Shawn!

My 338 Edge is still shooting extremely well, but like I said, I'm starting to wonder if I'll need a new barrel before too long. I just need to decide if I should stay with my traditional setup or move to the LRKM. :)

Shawn

Thanks for the response on the scope. I shoot a lot in the desert at ranges at and beyond 1,900 yards (with my 7 WSM, 7 Dakota, and 338 LM Improved) so the additional elevation is required.

+1 I am very interested in a titanium 338 supressor. I have been looking hard at one that is quick release; how does your attach and how far back on the barrel does it fit (menaing how far back does the barrel need to be turned down to slide into the can?)
