I've currently got a Marlin 1895 45/70 that I love. I've had skinner sights on it for years but noticed this deer season that I need my glasses on to use the open sights at dawn and dusk as the rear ghost ring obscured the front blade to the point of non usable. I'm thinking about putting a LPVO type on this but don't want anything too big. I've been looking at the Trijicon TR24 1-4 with green triangle as most of my shooting won't exceed 150yds on deer. Any insight or pics of setups like what I'm trying to accomplish is much appreciated. Thanks

My favorite is a Meopta K-dot 1-4 but yes put a good LPVO on and go!! The less that is illuminated on the reticle the better for shorter range in my opinion, it can get hard to see past the reticle once it's turned up bright enough to see when there is a lot of reticle lit in very low light.
