Zeiss all day, but I'd personally want more magnification than the one you listed. The new V4's or a V6 up to a least 16x would be my my choice!

I had a John Rigby 275 and for me, maintaining the vintage sleek profile is important. Leica for me, out of those choices.

On that rifle I would put a straight 3X Leupold with low mounts and keep it for under 300 yards. It's a classic beauty and longer range scopes just seem out of place.

That looks fine.
My John Rigby came factory fitted with a Kahles 2-7 scope in EAW QD mounts as it also had factory express sights on it. It was a good match and I never changed it.

It will serve you well.
