I have seen some people suggest using a Remington 700 and I would assume they would suggest having it blueprinted and then adding in a custom barrel. Which is a great way to go, but compare the price for the action and blueprinting along with whatever else you would want done to the action to the cost of a Defiance, Zermatt, Bat, etc you may get an action with the same qualities already done with better value. Then look at what ever barrel you want and figure the cost of machine work to be done to it, and compare that to a pre-fit barrel for a custom action. You may find the pricing to be close. And may make your decision easier.
