Looking For Coyote Hunting Info What Cal do you Use

I shoot a 22-250AI, 243AI and a 6-284 for coyotes.

I use mouth calls and a foxpro.

I've shot them anywhere from 20yds-400yds, most around 100-150.

No cover scent.

I hunt in central Texas.

We have always had pretty good luck with a foxpro 75-100 yds away and while you cant beat the dogs nose,we try to play it to our advantage as best we can by showering,using scent killer and dabbing a Q-tip in a predator food lure and placing it by the caller.I cant claim youll get more shots doing this,but you wont get any less.

1 What Cal do you use when hunting Coyote ?

I kill them little critters with my 22-250 when calling with my FoxPro and what every I am deer hunting with when I see em.


2 What Yard do you shoot most of the time ?

Most of them from 100 to 200 yards.


3 what state do you coyote Hunt in ?

Killed a bunch of them in New Mexico. But now hunt mostly in western Oklahoma.

You boys in New Mexico I know a sweet little spot just a little north of Albuquerque, if your interest let me know and I will put you on them. I bet they have not been hunted since I left there two years ago.


4 What do you use to for Sent Cover ?
Just the wind is the only cover sent that works on a dog.
