Douglas only shows a 10 or 12 twist rate for .270

I would give them a call and talk personally too Stanley and see if they can do a faster twist might be worth a try 304-776-1341 my last barrel job for the stainless air gaged was 580.00 just looked it up chrome moly is less

That 25-284 was a 8 twist I could have done a 7 but not 7.5

If you don't mind waiting call Bartlien and talk too Mark they will do any twist you want they are top of the line not much different in price hand lapped hope I helped good luck

When you start talking Bartlein (and any of the other cut rifling barrel makers ) you quickly exceed the price range Ricpowel mentioned. And, Bartlein is a year wait if ordering directly from them. There may be 1 'on the shelf' at one of the places that (tries) to stock barrels, but it won't be a "light" barrel, again like Ricpowel said he is in the 'market' for. I never see anything 'lighter' than a #3 contour on Bugholes or Redhawks web sites. Customer demand will be when the button rifle makers decide to add the 1-7 twist to .270. Ya' gotta' sell enough barrels in that twist to justify the cost of making the tooling, or charge the customer an extra "tooling charge". Seems like all the barrel makers are busy.
