I have 199 hammers loaded for this years deer/bear/elk season haven't gotten a shot at a bear yet but I'm very confident especially now that these will throw the smack down on any of those critters. I'm also shooting these at 3225 at the muzzle so I'm just barely above 1800fps out to 1070 at 1080 I'm 1791

I would love to see you load the 199 hammers light in a 308 with say a MV of 2000-2200 and shoot a hod at 200-400 yards. That should give a similar impact velocity on a live animal if you have good access to hogs at varying distances.

This write up has me amped to try the 117s out of my 270 on some mountain mulies and possibly a bear this fall!
All I've shot with mine up to this point are coyotes.
