Long throated 28 Nosler experiences?

My buddy is interested in buying one of my rifles, and this has me thinking I should sell it and use the cash towards a "budget dream rifle". 10 lbs ready to rumble, deer/elk to 750 yds, targets to a mile (big ones ;) ).

It would probably be an ARC Archimedes action (maybe some flavor of Defiance or Zermatt), Mg Element chassis, Carbon Fiber barrel (perhaps fluted, SS, heavy sporter), Trigger Tech Primary (maybe Special), and AI type magazines. That leaves me ~3.7" COAL to work with, hence my inquiry...

Anyone have any real world experience with throating a 28 Nosler out to run 3.6"-3.7" COAL?

1) Feeding issues in AI type boxes? Which pattern/caliber would work for 28 Nosler?

2) Performance gain by seating ~1/4" longer than SAAMI?

My goal for a 28 Nosler would be to run the 180-190 class bullets around 3000-3100 fps. I'd happily sacrifice a little speed for some barrel life, so if a 26" tube will approach 3000 fps with a 190 A-Tip, or 3100 fps with a 175 ELD-X, I'd be tickled. If I can't get there easily, it's not worth the trouble over 7mm RM, which I already have and load for.

Thoughts?

I have a 28 Nosler and I can run the 195gr Berger with RL33 at 3040fps with no problems, I also run the 169gr Hammer Hunter at 3201fps with H1000, I could probably get this up to 3250+ if I used N570 or RL33, but wanted to keep the throat on the cool side.

My son and I each have a 28, both have the Berger 195 touching the lands around 3.590", Nosler 185 RDF at 3.580"ish, 162ELDX at 3.565"ish, 175LRAB touches the lands at about 3.540. It runs out at 3100 with LRT and the 195, 3080 is as fast as I have gone with the 185 and LRT, RL26 and the 162 ELDX will easily run 3300+. RL33 will push the 162ELDX and the 175ABLR faster than RL26, haven't tried it with the other bullets yet. OAL's are approximate, notes are at home.

Can't help the build side but I'm running 195's at 3050 with a 26" barrel and RL33. No pressure signs and very accurate load

I'm at a COAL of 3.664" 195 bergers n570 83.0 grains 3,123 fps avg 0.25 moa consistently at 200 yards. Took it out to 650 target the other day 1.85" groups.

Thanks for the helpful info.

Are all of these measurements from "SAAMI" chambers, or are any of these specially throated to run long?

Longer freebore. I will tell you, running the 28 Nosler hard will erode the throat pretty fast and you will eventually turn that SAMMI chamber into a longer Freebore. I found out the hard way pushing my 195gr. Berger's as fast as I could, when you get a scope, and look down the barrel you will see what I mean.
