Long Range Pistol..Which one???

Looking to buy a new pistol for hunting, something with long range. So far I'm looking at either a savage striker or a HS Precision Pro 2000P. Stricker in like a .308 and the HS in a 7MM-08 if i can find one for sale. Anyone have any opionions on either or a different pistol i should look into. Looking for a pistol to carry for deer hunting I hunt in a slud county in WI but can carry a pistol in any caliber during that time so looking to get more range by going to a pistol.
