Long range 22lr

Nice I have been checking them out recently but haven't seen on in person yet.

i was running a few different optics on this rig before settling in. Started with a Nikon black fx, moved to a vortex razor gen II, had the Schmidt pmII for a super short period of time, then the element. And I'm very happy with it

Could some post ballistic drops in MOA and in inches for 22LR ammo that runs around 1260 fps , its a 38 gr bullet ? The basic 22lr federal round you can buy at Walmart. I am trying to figure out if I put a 50 moa scope base on a 10-22 rifle and then put a scope on top of that , that has a total of 60 MOA in the scope how far I can get it out too. I would like to sight it in at 50 or 100 yards and shoot 500 plus yards. Just for fun , tin cans etc. thanks Marty

Super sonic 22 Lr has accuracy issues at longer range because the bullet is not going very much over the speed of sound, and when that bullet slows back down it goes from super sonic ( faster than the speed of sound) to subsonic ( less than the speed of sound) this transonic transition makes the bullet act unpredictable and can change its flight path at long range. That's the reason I'm shooting subsonic ammo as it never has to go through that transition.

But any way, you can look up the aprox BC of the 22 bullet your interested in and put the velocity and environmental factors into and ballistics calculator and it will tell you all you would need to know as far as bullet drop.

Off subject just a bit I have been looking at Christensen Arms Ranger 22. Anyone have one that shoots long range with? I really want a super accurate 22lr. Any suggestions on one thats not 3-4K?

Sorry for the hijack.

Thanks

Bergara B-14R Trainer. Essentially a Remington 700 footprint for accessories. About $1000-1200.

I have been shooting/hunting with this set-up for about four years. Surely not as fancy as some of the rigs shown, but gets the job done. I have used it with good success in a few rimfire PRS matches. It's based on a stock Savage TR 22lr barreled action with an MDS Chassis, Vortex AMG, EBR-7 MIL scope. Ammo, Lapua Center-X and Federal HS Match perform well with the latter enabling consistent hits on an 8" steel at 400 yards(max range tested). Woodchucks and crows shot out to 275 yards.
Great for inexpensive long range skill development, particularly with wind. First shot hit's with high frequency using my Sig 2400 and Gunwerks G7 Ballistic RF's

My 10/22 Build for ~$1,500 including glass - The photo is a target with 5 rounds of Center-X at 50 yards - 4 in the big hole on the left plus 1 flyer. I have only taken it out to 200 yards during my local PRS matches but It can go farther.

Recently I've added Burris XTR signature rings and was able to get all the elevation adjustment out of my scope, I should be able to get close to 600 yards without holding over with subsonic match ammo, but I have not had a chance to go test it out.
How was ur success with those rings? I have them on my ruger RPR 22LR. I was running them with the 0moa inserts, shooting eley subsonic hollow points I had ragged holes at 50 yards. I recently switched them to add 20moa more to the scope, I took it out and it was like a 3" group. I checked all the fasteners and everything is torqued to spec. I am thinking of switching back to the 0 inserts and see what happens
