you'll know when you start shooting if they powder burn rate is adequate for the barrel length. For example.
I have a 26" Proof barrel in 6.5 PRC...worked up a load with 150 SMKs and RL26 (IIRC)
Built another 6.5 PRC with an carbon fiber 18" barrel for hunting season and decided to just test the existing ammo and potentially use a few for break in.
First shot sent a HUGE puff of "smoke" out the bore, almost like it was a muzzle loader.
Worked up a different load with 135 TGKs and RL16 and got MUCH better results.
I have 18" 22 Creed, 18" 6mm Creed and 18" 6.5 PRC and a 19" 6x284 (that's a big time fire breather with slow powder)
Love them all, but powder makes a HUGE difference.
