I would appreciate any load data for the 25-06. I have an older friend who is looking to do some long range target shooting (maybe deer hunting) and will be using the Berger 115 grain VLD bullets. Any load data using this bullet would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I tried Retumbo, RL-25, and H-1000. My gun didn't group until I tried IMR 4831. My load is 52 Gr in Norma cases with WLR primers. This load is over max in the Berger book so approach with caution. The book lists 51.3, I think, as max. My chronograph says it's going 3020 FPS which is slower then the book lists for a 24" barrel. The bullet is seated with slight pressure into the lands. My groups are between .5" and .7" at 100 yards. I feel this will improve after the cases are fire formed. Rifle is a Left Handed Browning X Bolt.

Here's some of what the Berger Manual has to say.
H 4831 48.5 (2682) 54.3 (3022)
IMR 4831 46.0 (2792) 51.3 (3078)
IMR 4350 44.5 (2762) 49.4 (3038)
RL 22 49.5 (2760) 55.2 (3089)

Let me know if he has a specific powder in mind not listed here.

tagging in, I will also start load development with the bergers, using H4831SC, BR-2, nosler brass, 24" vanguard. Do a search, there are some good threads on this subject....E

Try using IMR 7828 SSC. I use that in my .25-06 AI with the Berger 115 VLD's. Works good for me. Of course, load data is subjective, and loads need to be carefully worked up in every gun to find your gun's max load.

Thanks very much for your input guys! I'll pass this load information along to my friend and I have no doubt one or more of these will work for him. BTW his gun is a Remy 700 with a varmit contour barrel.
