I'm own one these machines and they are great! This is a very fair price especially if it's your first 550. I've used this machine for training, competitions, and hunting. When I load for precision (rifle) I weigh each powder charge individually and run one piece of brass around at a time. Don't get me wrong, you get very accurate rounds in full progressive mode if using the right powder, usually ball type. It's all about how well the type of powder you're using will meter. In my head I see it as a progressive single stage press when using stick powder. Learning how to use this machine in different ways will surprise you in how fast you can load high quality rounds. I also own a Dillon RL1100, Forster Co-Ax, Harrell's Precision Dual press and love them all. If I was to own only one, it would be the 550. Here is a list of cartridges I've loaded over the years:
