Light 7mm bullets for Coyote?

Yes lots of coyotes in RI.
Not much hunting here though: too many people and houses

I hunt Maine. The woods are free and big up there.

100 grainer.........

Looks promising

120gr bullets work great out of the 7mm-08.

There's the 120gr Vmax, the 120gr Balistic tip, 120gr Prohunter, all which you can push at over 3,000 fps. The 120gr Ballistic Tip my wife uses them for deer and javelinas.

There's also the 100gr HP Varmint from Sierra, easily pushed over 3,300 fps.

Personally the Vmax and Prohunter have worked great on coyotes, I don't care for the pelts though.

FYI
Trail Boss is For LEAD BULLETS ONLY
If you werent aware
I'm aware that people definitely use it for reduced loads with jacketed bullets. But use whatever you want. That sierra is a great bullet if you can get ahold of it, phenomenal accuracy. Don't expect to find a lot at the impact site. The YouTube channel outdoorEdventures, a member here, used to use 80 g 6.5 varminteer on hogs and dogs out of a 20" creedmoor and it was disgustingly violent iirc. Effective though. I have loaded them before. extremely fun to use. I asked my buddy what he used when he cared about fur, he said 175 a-frame or partitions. Two reasonable holes with enough fragmentation. It would be easier to have a controlled reduced performance than the barnes, but same idea. Harder to get though.
I plan on using 180gr ELDM's out on my 7mm RM.
They'll work. They're just a varmint bullet wearing a suit. Extremely willing to come apart. I get fragmentation initiation inside an empty beer can and they retain so much power that when I was using a 3/8" cable to hang a plate at 525y I snipped the cable off by hitting the plate about 2" away with the 180. That's at under 2700mv.

What about a Partition or something similar? Tougher bullet designed for bigger game.
Ya but the 7mm bore = bullet weight offerings for deer sized game

Not much for light weight besides that Sierra #1895

Most companies start at 120grain and plastic tipped

I know the plastic tipped are trending for long range, but I guess I'm old school. I like metal tipped.
A box of bullets showing up w a plastic tip rolling around in the bag was such a turn off for me to buy/use them.

"Don't expect to find a lot at the impact site"

That's a red flag for me, I'm not looking for carnage, I'm looking for a clean entrance/exit. Or clean entrance no exit......not a big bloody mess of hamburger

Thanks for your input I am considering it
