Lever actions for shooting pigs

My new Rossi 357, REALLY wanted to test it out this year and it did not disappoint. 9 yard shot with 38spl loaded to just subsonic, was the most fun I've had on a hunt in a long time!

Ok... My Marlin .444 straight lever rifle or my Winchester 94 top eject .44 Mag carbine, the rifles are from the 60s and 70s Well what the heck, my mint Win 94 .30 WCF (1942) that's killed everything it ever gotten a bead on, killed my bigest Whitetail buck in Winchester ID with it, I'm sure it work fine on pigs. For Deer these days I think I could have more fun with my Winchester 1873 SRC in .38/.357 Mag... yep, I like levers. Cheers

I lived in SE Texas until I was 34, we used many leverguns; 30-30, a 32 special (Winchester) 30-30, one 35 (336) and later, three rifles led the pack...Marlin 444, the 1895 and the Winchester 9422 "22 magnum". FMJ to the head/neck was wicked! I used a little marlin 94 44mag one year, took deer. hogs, it was a superfine little timber rifle! I got to shoot a hog here in Utah before they outlawed it ( they were domestics turned loose, but they were still hogs! ha) I shot one of those Raging Russians on the UP with my pet 35 Whelen and 310gr Woodleigh, just because. Those hogs have red meat and taste like steak! If I had known that I would have shot a pickup load, ha. I miss hog hunting big time! Think of this ol Preacher when you guys pile them up!? P.S. I never liked hunting with dogs and then sticking him...too medieval for me, ha. I like guns! :)

Yep, nice stable... I had a really nice Win 94 in .32 Special back when, I should have kept it, like so many other lever guns I let go. I still have my Win 9422 one in .22 S,L,LR... the other is .22 Win mag both are crazy accurate and fun to shoot. Cheers

I forgot to say that the Utah hog was killed with a 224 Texas Trophy Hunter with 75gr Scirocco, head/neck, easy cheesy. I'm down to one Marlin 336 30-30 ( its at Smiths being reamed to the Ackley, I load it with 170 and 190s. Some of the sharpest canines I ever saw/heard was how a mad sow looked/sounded popping her jaws! ha
