leupold varmint reticle visibility

I am considering the Leupold varmint reticle. Has anyone had difficulty seeing the reticle when holding on a coyote at 300 - 400 yards. Is the visibilty of the reticle compromised by the coyote background color. I expect some difficulty in low light conditions but would appreciate any comments. Thanks.

I have used the reticle not on coyotes but shooting still and other items and have not had an issue. I was happy with the reticle layout and thickness.
