Anyone have a Leupold mk5 3.6-18x44 mounted on a long action bolt gun. Just wondering about room and eye relief. Thinking about this short scope on a long action lone peak fusion.

From the research I've done, the 3.6-18 isn't quite up to par optically as the 5-25 model. If you're looking for an ultra short style optic, the khales 318 is superior, it's also heavier and a lot more $. Perhaps wait a few weeks and see the new Burris xtr3 3.5-18. There are some sneek peaks in the "shot show rumors" thread.

The short scopes usually will give you trouble if you try using direct mount rings. Using rails, 0 or 20 moa, will give you more options for proper positioning.
