Many thanks for sharing this with us. Counterfeit is more of a problem than many are aware.

Yep and Leupold is well aware of it too. They don't mind having us call in and double check before buying one, particularly the used high end models.

Been dooped by someone as well. It turned out guy supposedly didn't know either. But they are actually descent looking scopes. The white letter is a dead give away but also on ones with serial number, the serial number will be a few numbers and last two will be the letters SC like 4444SC. I have seen four or five now and all the same. SC I was told by leupold rep is south china.

Not necessarily. They are coming new from Leupold with white lettering as of a couple months ago. I'm confused on why they started this practice since it's a staple of counterfeit identification, but it's the way they're made now.
