Great pictures! Somebody that obviously hates woodchucks as much as I do! What bullet are you using in the .243 AI? I just bought one however it has a 1 in 14" twist. It shoots the 60 gr. Berger at 4168 fps average and into .312 MOA routinely.
That is just a bunch of nice rifles!
Is 300RUM too much for groundhogs?

No such thing as too much for them.
I agree! Whatever it takes however getting closer to them with that barrel length might be cheating!
I see you like the A/V-Max's too. I run them in most of mine and I am going to try the 65 gr. V-Max. I just got a box of 66 gr. Berger's to try. That 75 gr. A-Max in my 1 in 9" Savage 12 .223 shoots great however sometimes I wish I had a little more velocity. I get 2980 fps but would really like 33-3400. Thinking about re-chambering to .22-250 AI. like I need another caliber to load for!
Well said and sound logic. Kinda why I chose the 6.5X47 Lapua for my Savage build. My 22" 223AI's run moly'd 75's at ~3100. My 1-8" 22-250 was a 22"er and would run them at 3300 but burned up 10 more grains of powder to do so. My oldest lot of 223AI brass has 22 firings on it and the pockets are still tight and I've not had to trim it yet. I really like the 223AI. We shoot to 1000yds a lot and my first 223AI had 4000 rounds through it in about 18 months of shooting. Kind of hard to argue with cheap brass, no recoil, long strings of fire, great barrel life, cheap bullets, modest powder charges....and getting a LOT of long range practice for your dollar and only burning up 26gr of powder at a time to do so.
Nice rigs! What's the twist on the Howa? How does the .308 shoot?
