Last minute ground hog shooting.

I was in Mattituck, Cutchogue Long Island recently, on a 500 plus acre winery, I saw over 50 groundhogs in one day, alas no centrefire, or even 22 rifles can be used to hunt them, perhaps a super high powered air rifle.That area is absolutely overrun with big fat gh's.

Interesting, I was there with my wife yesterday. Good weather brings all the "Islanders" to the wineries. LOL

I was at Macari 575 acres what a fabulous place, property alone worth billions at todays prices, along the water. their wine is by far the best on the island by far. Literally hundred of groundhogs on that place. By the way my best friend owns it. All those farms in that area are loaded unbelievable. Next year I'll hunt with a high powered air rifle i'm researching them now.

Very cool. You should bowhunt whitetails there. Many large racked deer on the forks of LI if you can secure a place to hunt. I'll stop by at Marcari the next time I'm on the north fork.

I use to frequent Diliberto's Winery in Jamesport. A small family-owned winery where the owner, himself, would join you in tastings. They had an outdoor pizza oven and made specialty pies to order. Sal Diliberto also organized tasting tours in Italy where he would meet his customers and escort them around wine country.

I'm in serious whitetail country, living within a 24000 acre forest. Very little pressure. I've already secured a place Macari is my best friend, I go there often.
