I saw your posting about hunting Pheasants at Mobridge. Are you talking about Mobridge that is on Standing Rock Reservation?
I have hunting up at Ft. Yates in North Dakota on the Reservation for three years. Always wondered what was south of there.
Would love to talk to you more about that area................. I was planning on going this year but the Casino, Prairie Knights, was booked all of October and November..................
The thing that puzzles me is that the reservation is made up of Tribal lands as well as public.........and you need a tribal permint and a North Dakota licencse as well................
Would enjoy hearing from you as a great souce of information.

Just saw this from a while ago but yes it is mobridge that is not on standing rock as we are on the east side of the river. So we dont have to have tribal tag just state tag. There are going to be alot of pheasants this year. I dont like dealing with the intermixed indian and public land pain in the ***.

Kurt........................So you guys had a big hatch this year? Last year I hunted around Ft. Yates, however almost all of the places I have hunted prior to last year was under water as the river had risen a lot. I shot alot of older roosters, those with real long tails and long spurs.

Can I expect more roosters this year over last year?'''

cant say for it up there but we had a great hatch last year as well as this year. On my way to gettysburg say 6 different hens with chicks. Last year we had a nice percentage of old and young birds in all the ones shot while guiding pheasant hunters

I did not make it out to ND this year but my brother in law did....................his report was the the Pheasant populations were way way way down..........hunting was bad and if they have another tuffwinter it wont be worth the trip out there again
