Thanks for the thread. It is a good one. The only thing I will add is that some guns are collectors for whatever reason, and the rest are tools.
I have no doubt that you will always know the history of your brothers rifle regardless of what you do to it. I also know that you will make sure the next owner will know too. Enjoy the rifle.

Thx and I would say none of his gun are collectors they are nice nice tools. I also am starting to think no matter what I do to it I will always have the memories associated with said gun.
