Kids first rifle

Looking for a kid his first rifle. He's requested a 243 or 308. Nothing heavy. Something he can lug around in the woods for deer and hogs. Right handed. Let me know what you have. Thanks

Hate to say it but... get him a ruger American. I've seen way to many of them shot better than then should. U won't be unhappy

For 500.00, Id be looking hard at used Tikka in .243, thats something he can use the rest of his life.

I agree with the Tikka one of the best factory rifles you can get for the money in my opinion and as much as I hate to say it I might also recommend the 65 Creedmoor

I was going to say instead of a 308 go for the 7mm-08 less recoil and will out do the 243 later
