It's a whiskey tasting kinda of night ...

LOL, I like beer too ... all kinds of spirits, I do not discriminate against any of them.
Well said!

Digging through my "archives" (aka was drinking something new to me and snapped a pic). Here is one a family friend had. My wife's side of the family has Kansas connections. I remember liking and can't say I will ever find it here in Pennsylvania.

I've been meaning to try the 18 year... I usually have a few bottles of the Distiller's Edition around to get their turn after a long week though... How do they compare?
Sorry, it is my first and only Talisker so I cannot compare it to the other editions or age. It has a nice mixed fruity sweetness with a spicy character and smoky malt. It reminds me of the Lagavulin 16 but less peaty.

Have you tried the salted caramel? Very nice sipper in front of the fire. Also would be nice to get your thoughts on their Texas mesquite smoked whiskey. My local shops don't carry and there's no whiskey tasting this year. Didn't want to order until tasting. Any good?

I have tried the smoked mesquite crown and it is amazing. Can't find it anywhere local, but would buy a couple of bottles if I could. Another good choice if you like a little smoke flavor is the High West Campfire!!

Another local favorite. They have a really good "Highwood Rye" too.
