It happened to me

So After thousands of rounds, i made a mistake and somehow grabbed the reloader 15 instead of reloader 25 for my 257 bee. Fired one round at minimum charge ( thank goodness) and the bolt was locked up something fierce. The rifle appears to be ok. Always look at your bottle twice I know I will for now on!
I only hunt or at the range have 1 box with me
Years ago I was up in Winisk hunting geese and I ran out of 12ga shells so I asked the guide who only spoke Cree to give me some but he shook is head a big NO? I pestered him untill he gave me some
Loaded up and fired the oh hell he had the same gun but 16ga That hunt ended early that morning
Lesson learned never forgot

I've also done it... Went from loading RL-15 in 35 Whelen to RL-33 in 2506.. Never swapped the powders..

Same kinda thing, been reloading for years, and this weekend, in a rush, not paying attention and read the calliper wrong. Had my bullets seated .020" into the lands instead of .020" off the lands on an already hot load. Bolt was very stiff to open.

I had a young lady bring me a t3 that was a 270 and she had fired a 308 in it yes it went off it had blown the case into 3 prices the neck and shoulder were no where to be found vaporized I guess and extractor blown out to bullet did exit the barrel luckily no injury's

I had to throw powder away because i left it in my RCBS Charge master and did not have it labeled. So now, i label first and pour powder. I have also had to pull bullets and charge cases again when i list count on my ladder. Now, i have a post it in front and track each time i make a powder increase by .2 or .3 grs.

MY powder mistake happened a few years ago. I was loading charges with a powder measure and transitioned from old powder to new. Apparently the old powder had swelled and was less dense. I was shooting through the box of reloads and things went fine until I got to the first new powder load. Smoke pouring out of the action from an over pressured case certainly is unnerving.

Reloading after work when you are tired means 2x more likely to make a mistake.

If you mistake 4895 for 4831, I hope you are shooting a Remington or Winchester, and you will be buying a new bolt.

Drinking beer and reloading with friends can cause all kinds of problems.

Threads like this give the appropriate level of anxiety

I never load more than one cartridge in a session. Always have the powder container directly next to the chargemaster

I know a small cartridge can be just as bad as a large one but I reweigh and confirm every charge for my 45-70, 338 win and 257wby

The thought of filling one of those cases with a fast powder is disconcerting

I was pulling bullets, numerous rounds with the same bullets, but totally different powders.
Was into the 5th set when nature called, when I came back H1000 was on the bench, pulled 5 bullets before I realised I was pouring out RETUMBO. That was 5 300WM cases went into 1lb of RETUMBO.

The other incident I witnessed was at a gun club shoot where one guy, notorious for poor gun handling safety, incorrect procedure on the firing line, etc etc, fired 5 rounds of 25-06 through his 270 before someone pointed out the soft report of the rifle. He then proceeded to fire a 270 round while the range was in a ceasefire at his feet saying that sounded more like it....unbelievable.

Cheers.
People can be scary sometimes

I made tags from popsicle sticks and a little wire hook. Those are labled with powder name and hung on both powder dispensers (I load for many cartridges) and also the trickler...especially the trickler

Not the powder goofup but almost as bad. I load and shoot 6mm Rem and .257 Roberts. Went to the range with both rifles and settled down and started with the 6mm. Then put it down and picked up the Roberts. First round not even close to the target, second shot no better and a dust puff off to the left. Puzzled I looked over and wth I was still pulling rounds out of the 6mm box. Yup, the 6mm will chamber and fire in the .257 Roberts because they come from the same cartridge family.
Under similar circumstances I loaded .26 into a .308. Put 3 rounds down range and just couldn't hit the target. Lesson learned.

'Yote'...how the heck did that bullet get thru that barrel....
I just don't see that happening......

I also pit the powder canister

I also put the powder bottle on the bench where I can read it. I am also looking for some data for Reloader 25 in the 257 Bee. I am still shooting factory rounds butI use RL 25 in my 7 mag. Any help would be appreciated.

I once fired S&W 40 caliber in a 45 acp .They didn't cycle the action ,couldn't understand why until I got the case out. It was expanded and split . Oh dang how did I do that !
