Is the .223 WSSM really that bad??

I've heard guys cuss it along with the .243 and 25WSM's. Sorry but I don't it as all that much in overbore. I wish they gone with a 33 degree shoulder, and yet kept the same over all length. The 28 degree neck puts the T.P. right near the case mouth.

Looking in the Hornaday manual, I see 3500fps with a 75 grain bullet, or about 125fps faster than a 22-250 AI. Looks to me like you'd be better off with the use of 70 grain and heavier bullets to make better use of the four or five more grains of powder.

The .223 WSM and it two brothers would probably be better in a single shot action, but not everybody likes the single shot. I'm big on them!

I like the .223 Rem with a max load and Hornday's 53gr V-Max. But when It runs out of range or the wind kicks up I would rather have my 6mm Rem in my hands.
I have not heard much about WSM's positive to want one.
Now a 22-250AI or plane jane 22-250 would do.
Good luck with your build and good shooting.
