Is Berger REALLY, making more bullets than ever? I laughed when the rep said that.

Complaining about Bergers going up 10-15 Dollars a 100 but I guess powder all but doubling and primers going up about 4X what they were is o.k.

Placing back orders for 1k of each back in October 2020 was a great thing to do. I waited 3-4 months to do that, and then realized that the sooner I placed the backorder the sooner I could quit worrying about it.

I'd say place your back order now, and then buy/try the 6.5mm 139 grain and/or .308 155 grain Scenar. Great bullets!

We recently got 2K of Berger 105 Match hybrid Target #24733 (unobtanium) this past week. Christmas Present. We had on back order (you need to think and order in advance).
I know it's not hunting bullets, but Berger is manufacturing bullets.

I believe every manufacturer is producing supplies as fast as facilities, staff, and COVID will permit. They cant make 6.5 exclusively even with the high demand, it isnt the only thing on earth. I see bergers show up about as much as others. Ive reached out to a few makers also and got similar responses from all. They are facing the highest demand in their existence and have no intention of expanding production facilities because they feel this panic will settle down and they cant justify the cost. So far it has not. I do know this, Hazmat drivers are in short supply. I for one shelved my CDL and retired due to a number of things but the morons on the highways have no clue how to drive around large vehicles and it isnt worth the risk anymore. On several occasions, Ive had small cars try to force me off the road while I was driving a 127,000 lb crane. They lost. Pile COVID on top of that and govt regulations and enough was enough. The list of reasons for the shortages is long and we either ride it out or seize the opportunity to start your own manufacturing business, it sure is the time

I'm wondering if anyone has been able to find Berger 140 Elite bullets in 6/5 or, the Berger 168 Classic Hunter bullets in 30 cal?
About 5 months ago I called & emailed several well known retailers on line who carry reloading supplies with the question of: "Have you received any Bergers lately"?

Out of approximately 10 stores, 6 replied with they hadn't received any in months! Two replied that they didn't wish to provide that information, (they probably hadn't received any either) and the other two never replied. To date, I've yet to find any of the above mentioned. I originally contacted Berger prior to my study and they pointed me toward their distributor list and recommended I sign up for notifications. I went through the 20-30 listed and most don't provide a way to "be notified when product becomes available". So.. again it begs the question. Is Berger really producing more bullets than ever, as their rep told me on the phone? The ONLY place I've found any Berger bullets was on Gun Gouger, I mean Broker. I personally believe Berger has something going on they don't want the public to know. When is the last time you found a popular Berger bullet on line, in any quantity?
When the demand for their product is this high, they would be idiots no to produce all they can. In fact, if they aren't producing all that they can the CEO should be fired. I would be shocked if they aren't - it just makes zero business sense.

I purchased 300 Berger 7mm 140 grain VLD's three weeks ago. I purchased 300 Nosler accubond in 6mm during that same time frame. So they are being made. There is no conspiracy or holding back. Accept that and be diligent it will eventually pay off.

IMHO, They've gone down hill since Nammo bought them. After months of waiting for 6.5s and .30s have since switched over to Hornady ELD-Xs & Ms. Same for my buds shooting matches or hunting. They've lost a lot of customers with their lollygagging production. They're going to learn the lesson that when you lose a customer you lose him/her for good.

A poster on another Forum said that they called Berger and they were told we should look for bullets back on shelves Feb/March 2022.

They have been singing this song, along with other manufacturers for a few years!

Just my viewpoint, but the writing was on the wall a few years ago. Based upon availability with many suppliers, it appears that as a group they generally lack the business acumen to manage and control the product flow in their served markets. Berger, on particular, proliferated their product line! The results was that you will very likely not be able to get the particular bullet you like or want….when you need it most. Perhaps the profit structure of the business in general makes it difficult to invest sufficiently to meet market/volume demands. I really like, and use Berger bullets in several of my rifles……But not for high volume applications. It took quite a while, but I built up sufficient stock of the particular bullets I use for my LR hunting demands. For high volume use, ie. competition, I look elsewhere.
Berger is surely not alone with this issue…..Others like Hogdon display the same malady.
IMO
