Is Berger REALLY, making more bullets than ever? I laughed when the rep said that.

I'm wondering if anyone has been able to find Berger 140 Elite bullets in 6/5 or, the Berger 168 Classic Hunter bullets in 30 cal?
About 5 months ago I called & emailed several well known retailers on line who carry reloading supplies with the question of: "Have you received any Bergers lately"?

Out of approximately 10 stores, 6 replied with they hadn't received any in months! Two replied that they didn't wish to provide that information, (they probably hadn't received any either) and the other two never replied. To date, I've yet to find any of the above mentioned. I originally contacted Berger prior to my study and they pointed me toward their distributor list and recommended I sign up for notifications. I went through the 20-30 listed and most don't provide a way to "be notified when product becomes available". So.. again it begs the question. Is Berger really producing more bullets than ever, as their rep told me on the phone? The ONLY place I've found any Berger bullets was on Gun Gouger, I mean Broker. I personally believe Berger has something going on they don't want the public to know. When is the last time you found a popular Berger bullet on line, in any quantity?

I see a lot of Berger target bullets coming out but few hunting. Just today I saw several just in stock online from euro optic, MIle High, and Blue Collar reloading for 30 cal 155 and 190, 25 cal 6 and 7 MM all hybrid target though. My LGS got in a bunch of 500count boxes but none were 6.5.

Your looking for two bullets they haven't run in quite awhile. I really like the 140 elite hunter, but I doubt it's even close to one of their top sellers. 156 EOL's have been available about 4 times since I have seen 140 EH.

At least once a week there are Bergers somewhere. May not be the ones your looking for but thats either because they haven't run the ones your after or they are popular and sell out in 5 minutes to the Discord crowd.

I believe they are probably making more bullets than ever. One potential issue I see is they just have too many product offerings. Example: Between their target and hunting line, they have 5 different 6.5mm 140gr weight bullet offerings. Others have said they're diverting more and more of their bullets to their ammo sales. I've seen a lot of ammo with 30 cal 215gr Hybrids available lately (Their brand and Federal Ammo). I know a few people got some backorders filled recently (precisionreloading.com) but I didn't see a single in-stock alert on here for reloading bullets in 215. They also have/had a huge government contract on loaded ammo (300 Norma with 215's).

I've had a backorder on 140 elite hunters for almost a year now but I'd be happy with any 140 right now.

I bought 3x 500 count same-lot boxes of 6.5mms (could have bought 3x that) last month, and 5x different 100 count boxes of 6mm last week to test out. I have backorders on at Eurooptic for the popular bullets, they'll come in eventually.

Bullet backorders have been a thing this entire component crunch. Sucks to pay up front but it does weed out the tire kickers and buys your place in line. But it also means that people that don't put up cash don't have a place in line and are left hunting around.

I spend about twenty minutes a day checking at various for my "wish list" items, but that's about it.

Haven't seen a box of Berger's on the shelf at any of my LGS for years….what did come in interstate was sold before it left customs here in Australia.
Those in the know will group buy, pay the import/export duties then stack the prices to four fold of what they paid for them.
Haven't used a Berger for years now.
Don't even look for them anymore.

Cheers.

They're probably putting it into factory ammo if I had to guess. But their reloading bullet supply has been spotty at best. Still not as bad as sierra. Hornady seems to be pretty available currently
A local shop owner said the same. The popular size bullets are going to Berger's and other ammo manufacturers. We're here in Berger's backyard. I've seen an increase in availability locally of many Berger bullets, but not the super popular bullets everyone is crying for.
