Interesting video on what we all know is going on with automobiles

I was hoping by 04 Dmax he was meaning 4.5 and the LLY not the LB7! My 03 LB7 was nothing but problems. Dumb design with the injector locations and no lift pump to help out the CP3. I think I dumped 12K or so in 5 years on mine just to keep it running and go from 75K - 175K on the miles.
Currently have a 15 cummins I bought new in Dec 15. Minus an issue with the DEF pump she's been solid through 140K. I don't trust the 68rfe as far as I can throw it, but I baby it, change fluids, drive like a pawpaw (my wife's words not mine)! Plan to keep it till it dies or I do because I can't afford a new one!

Lb7,lly,lmm etc, none impress me to be honest. But if he has it, keep it. I'd say I've put 12k in my 04 lb7. 45 over injectors, 10mm cp3, efi live, and a built trans (cause an Allison is an overrated *** when any more power than stock is put through it). It's just a beat around farm truck and most issues I've had was self inflicted. Duramax and powerstrokes both suck in design lol. You couldn't give me a ford.

I'm a Cummins man when it comes to light duty diesels. I have one still, no idea why you would own anything with a def tank still on it.

the loss of value our dollars are suffering is a huge factor in this as well, we keep running the printers and can't figure out why our dollars buy less and less.....
Voters are gullible. You ever notice that voters have a very low opinion of Congress and politicians in general, but when you ask them about their Senator or Rep, they have no problems. This is how big government RINO's like Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Lindsay Graham, Thom Tillis and Mitt Romney keep getting re-elected. The voters of those states keep swallowing the same BS from these swamp creatures.

Yeah all of this new stuff isn't for everyone. I just bought a new Ford F-150 XLT. It had the new feature called BlueCruise. It freaked me out when I turned it on by accident. Had to go back to the dealership to figure out how to turn it off. Then just this week they sent me a renewal notice. It was given for free for the first 3 months then they want you to pay extra for it. I just let it expire. Thank GOD. It scared the heck out of me.

I disagree. You have the choice of the Red Rhino…or the blue disaster. So, you keep voting for the Red Rhino.

As much as I like hydrogen, there is not enough room to store on an auto or truck the amount one needs to come close to gasoline or propane miles/fillup. To store hydrogen as a cryogenic liquid, those issues created are not possible on your daily driver. Think rocket science and how much is gassing off as the stuff boils off (in your garage or driveway).

Interestingly, Musk is headed for hydrogen power. IMO, Hydrogen is going to replace EV quickly.
Interesting. . .I read hydrogen is EV. . .as in EV batteries are charged by a constant output hydrogen powerplant that adjusts its consumption to keep battery charged.

This is OMG new technology. . .well unless you consider the electric powered mining vehicles with a diesel generator on them. They look diesel powered, but it is really the batteries and electric motors driving you around.

You have an interesting take on this. I find it amusing that you bought a truck that has every piece of high dollar hardware in it to provide you a feature and then they turned off your feature by satellite and you were happy. Maybe it would **** you off more if it was your A/C or transmission that stopped working because you failed to pay a feature ransom. . .I mean subscription.

That is an interesting comment and I really have no idea how accurate it is. I mean we all have some range anxiety. . .Is this true? How do I see that?

I have range anxiety going from my Truck at 700mi range to my wife's SUV at 300 mi range. . .scares the crap out of me.

This guy in the video also explains how the car companies keeping adding tech crap on the vehicle…that you don't need but you will pay a premium whether you want it or not. This forces you to finance the vehicle which is where they make their money.
i don't finance, so that the easy part. but ya, you can get screwed with tech the way the mfgr riggs how you "could" save depending on packages.

what ticks me off is as a cash paying person i don't get much savings cause of low interest rates! who cares! i'm not financing when i can save by not going to a bank! my '15 model 350hd ltz dually i bought for under 50k new when the dealer took over 11k off. i'm selling my jd 7215r that has the ivt trans and equipped with a heavy loader via joystick that has less than 1,500 hours on a '12 model. the plus is, it doesn't have or require DEF. that'll add 10-12k alone as farmers don't want that crap (maybe a few do). i could probably sell my dually for more than i paid for it as it has less than 85k on it. purchased 3/16, so a nearly 9 yo (technically a 10 yo) vehicle averaging less than 10k per year. i've had several offers on it over the last 3 years.

i'd rather take an older vehicle and make it the way i want just like my firearms. no need to spend huge money on something you'll change (at least for me). reason i have an '01 2500hd is for the fun of engine swap along with gears and trans, not including exterior changes.

I don't think I've ever felt the fun of doing any motor swap or trans/tcase/ or diff assembly.

Usually, it's a weekend filled with smelling like vehicle juices and making up cuss words that people never knew existed. Coupled with busted knuckles, crushed dreams, and back and forths with the parts guy.

Shocker, I hate reloading too. I don't know how people have fun doing that either. It's like…work…
