SOLD/EXPIRED (information) : There are feds posing as buyers

My work involves helping government employees understand their benefits and to better prepare for retirement. As such, I have many clients that work for the FBI, BATFE, DEA, etc. These guys are stretched so thin and are so totally focussed on major crimes, I can almost guarantee you that they are not out "en mass" trying to develop lists of AR-15 owners. It makes no sense. First of all, they don't have the time or resources to devote to this. Secondly, if they really want to know, all they have to do is go onto these forums and see who is writing what about AR-15s. Threads like For Sale, Gun Porn, Tactical, etc. give them all they need to know. Matching up a screen name with the person behind it is a piece of cake for them. I have no doubt that this incident referenced above occurred. But I also suspect it was isolated and not part of a wide dragnet. Just my two cents from talking with all these field agents.

What makes anyone on here think that this very thing is not happening right now?!

EVERYONE on this site is on a watch list just because we're on a 'gun site'! We are all potential threats to the Obama socialist regime. We are independent thinking, family oriented, hard working, non-conforming, gun toting AMERICANS!! That ALONE puts us all on a watch list!

Maybe if the federal government didn't waste time with legitimate owners they could do some real work like protecting the borders from illegal immigrants or not selling guns to mexican drug cartels.

Yeah, I do love how they just kinda swept all that crap under the rug, and after a month or so, you never heard anything else about it again.....Something was fishy, and we know they're guilty as sin, but they'll never get indicted, fired, or impeached over it....Just like the Benghazi incident.

First there are two different types of ATF. The special agents are the gun toters (law enforcement). Then there are "investigators" they are the ones checking paperwork at gun stores, etc. I'm around them because of explosive storage. They are young liberals most are anti-gunners. They inspect a place, find the smallest issue and write a report calling it a "deficiency" These reports are gathered to show congress all the bad things people are doing wrong. They justify their job, asking for more money and hire more people. These young investigators are known for re interpeting codes as they see fit. I would not trust them for doing a sting operation. Do you know that ATF has the ability to restore gun rights but refuses to do so? fact.

What gun grabbers dont understand is Feinstien, Bloomberg, and Obama sell more NRA memberships than Wayne LaPierre. All this hooplah about background checks is silly. Does anyone really think big brother doesnt know exactly who you are and exactly what you own? If this group Mayors Against Illegal guns has the objective of getting illegal guns off of the street, then why do they want to start in my house and your house?

Wanting to ban guns is an opinion, owning them is my right!!

It is more likely to be an independant group than the feds. Mayors against illegel guns claims to have already sent undercover buyers to gun shows. According to them just about everybody is willing to sell guns to people who appear to be straw buyers or criminals, check it out at their website. The enemy is definately setting traps so be careful

Maybe the fed could pose as federal agents and control the border, but why waste time going after criminals when they can criminalize law abiding citizens, this is the very nature of the problem with the federal government-contempt for law abiding citizens.
