I was trying to save money and not buy a set of competition shell holders. Instead, I adjusted my die height on my Redding type s full length die to produce .002" shoulder bump. I therefore have a gap between the die and shell holder, and no cam over on my forester co-ax press. After resizing, I have.003" of run out on my necks. Will a set of competition shell holders allow me to set my die lock ring while my press is cam'ed over? Should this help reduce my induced run-out of my necks?

The comp shell holder set will help with bump.
Is this a bushing die or an actual FL die(I can't tell anything from Redding's site..)?

Bushings partial neck size anyway. A thou or two more/less means nothing to the result.
Your runout is likely from heavy body sizing of thickness variances.
