I used to hunt them with a slingshot just outside Fairbanks, AK. They are great eating.

I use to hunt them in the Adirondacks with a .22 and it was an absolute hoot. One January we didn't get snow for few weeks and they stood out like a booger on nose hair!

Sounds like fun, but no snowshoe's here in AZ. Grouse are quite scarce also.
