While the OP is from December 2014, my choices haven't changed since 1989......22 LR, .223 Rem., and .375 AI. Working just as good now as in 1989! I guess that I only need two centerfire rifles! memtb

Nope, none of those old rounds can be let down or ignored, the .30-06 is going to be 109yrs old and is still one of the most popular cartridges around. The .270 emerged in 1925 and also remains one of the top sellers, seems like shells come and go, but the ol' tried and true ones stand their ground.

With that and the 45/70 it's age defying!

- Mag bolt - 6.5 SAUM and 300 Sherman Short

- Lapua bolt - 300 Norma Mag AI and 338 Warthog (Robert Gradous 338 Norma Mag 40° Imp.) just about to ship from LPR
