your ideal LR rig or are building/have/having it built right now, what would/is it, with all the details of course?

What I'm thinking for this fall...

Custom action 1.5"x10" w/ integral base, 17-4 or 15-5 SS
34" bbl 338/408 CheyTac Imp.
Modified A5 McMillan stock
5.5-22x56 NF R2
MKIV rings
Harris bipod
Jewell trigger
Custom brake (Holland style)
Custom bottom metal with custom 5 rd drop box mag

All with 1/3 rd MOA accuracy or better!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ok, where's life taking YOU?

Brent

That is almost identical to what i am going to do.

Custom action 1.6"-11"long, intergal base,Single base
32"or 34" barrel 408Chey Tac Imp.
MasterClass Prone Stock
USO SN-6 22x 44mm objetive 35mm tube, PCMOA recticle
Badger Rings
Harris bipod
Remington trigger (tuned up)
Badger break

What a coincidence! Those are exactly like I am going to build:

Remington Model 700 Used
.270 caliber
Stock stock
sling swivel studs (rusted) Uncle Mike's
Leupold 2.5 x 8 (will clean lenses and try to find scope caps by Butler Creek--lost in woods last season
Maybe will clean barrel and check zero
Search hunting clothes for bullets
Plan to kill many B & C trophies
Work six days a week like a dog, maybe ,if lucky, hunt three hours on powerline and kill doe at 300 yards behind house

I'll post a picture when this beauty is done! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I am currently having built by Alberta Tatical a 338 lapua on a nelseika single shot 32" lijia barrel jewel trigger mc millan a5 stock 8x32x56 night force with nf rings and 20 mil bases have 300 rounds of lapua brass just waiting . This rifle is for far far far away white tail deer.

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FACINATED WITH THE 408 CHEYTAC BUT IT WAS SO EXPENSIVE TO SHOT BUT WHAT YOUR DOING COULD BE JUST THE TICKET. COULD YOU GIVE ANY INFO ON BALLISTICS, I AM SURE IT WILL BE ABLE TO SHOT TO 2K AND PROBABLY FURTHER WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. MAYBE EVEN 3K. I GUESS YOU CALL IT FOAG (FATHER OF ALL GUNS). VERY INTERESTED IN YOUR PROJECT KEEP US POSTED IDAHO PREACHER.

I already have a PGW timberwolf .338LM with S&B 4-16x50 PMII mildot scope.

My new one (I have all the parts except scope), just waiting for assembly:
PGW coyote single action, with T-wolf honey-comb bedding block, int 20 MOA base
28" Broughton 5C 7/270WSM .311 neck, Kiff reamer
Masterclass Prone stock, 3-way butt, magnetic cheek piece
8-32x56 NXS NF R2
Kelbly double screw 30mm rings
Harris 6-9" swivel bipod with PGW lock
Jewell trigger

This one is for F-class, I hope to get at least MOA out of it!!!!!!!!???!!!

Well there you have it. There will undoubtably be some changes as time goes along and as I eliminate some of the question marks above.

I will be making the stock because there are some "Top secret" ideas that I want to use. None of the things listed here are a secret to anyone that knows much about stocks.

This will be for stretching out my useable range on deer and elk from the .308 and of course will be used on LR varmints. And yes there are plans forming like dense clouds in my mind for a "Highlander" rifle project as well. Something in the .30-.338 area. But first things first.

Idaho Preacher,
Are you kidding me ,the FOAG !!!! are you trying to ONE -UP the MOAG call me or send an E-mail so we can have a VISION on this topic ,or at the minimum invite me and big eer Goodgrouper to come up to the SPUD COUNTRY to shoot and discuss this topic at further detail.
B.

Brian B and Goodgrouper you are always welcome at my campfire. Let me know when and I'll always be there. I hope you realize that if the woman isn't happy then your not and if you don't make her happy you'll be happy with half your stuff. With that statement the foag will always be just under the MOAG. She the best, and no one should care to argue with Mother. Amen /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
