Thank you all for your comments. I believe that i need a new spotting scope. just keep my 10 X 42 Pentex bino's and purchase me 20 X 40 X 60 gold ring Leupold hd spotting scope with the TMR reticule. Very compact so they will fit into back pack nicely plus you also would be able to tell with width and height of the antlers.

I don't have to count tines where I hunt, but a +1 for the Leupold spotting scope. I am sure you will like it.
Much better than the 10X binocular for judging game, and fairly compact too. I sure like mine for packing light.
