I want a flintlock

I have a .54 cal Custom Build Lancaster Flintlock with Curley Maple built by Les Leiser of Greeley, Co.
It's a shooter … but has only had 7 round balls shot thru it.
Looking to trade even up for a Henry Original Iron w/Curley Maple .44-40 preferred.
[email protected] for pics.

Go for the Kibler kit, the Colonial model I know is made in 58-cal and would be the lightest of that model. Not sure if the Woodsrunnner can be a 58.

Their kits come out great! If you have reasonable skills … of course. And I highly recommend you watch Jim's YouTube videos of the build process/tips.

I built this one this past Fall for my best friend who lost his wife …

I bought a flintlock and ended up getting a decent 8pt buck with it in the muzzleloader season, I am completely hooked now and gathering parts to build more. The one I bought is Cabelas marked, made by investarms, 54 cal. VERY accurate and also reliable once I figured out how to manage it. Tight patched .530" round ball and 90 grains of 2f, 4f in the pan.

I have a 62 cal heavily swamped Rice barrel in hand, some nice curly maple is in transit to me and in a couple hundred hours of work I should have a fine rifle LOL. I also have a 45 cal Green Mountain barrel and blank on the way to me for a plinker and to build skill in making rifles.

I really wanted the Kibler, but in the end they just don't offer what I want, yet..... The rifles they offer don't speak to me loudly and the bore size across the board are small for what I want. A colonial in 62 or larger would be cool, a woodsrunner in 58 maybe. Hopefully they put out a plains rifle soon but I don't have any hope that a large bore will be an option, it's likely that they won't sell well at all and I assume that's why they have chosen the bores that they do offer. As the bores get larger you hit a point where the stock has to change to allow it, me and a few other hardheads don't have the buying power to make it worthwhile .
