I'm not sure what or how to report this. I'm working on a deal for some scopes and got a text supposedly from the guy trying to complete the transaction via text......but I dont know how he got my phone number as I havent sent it to him. Any help on how to report this?

If he has your real name, it doesn't take much to get the phone numbers for that name.

Creepy to use it without asking. IMO it would justify extra scrutiny of the person, including asking how he got your number.

What are you planning to report, that he texted you? You are already suspicious, if you can't do the deal face to face, walk away because doing deals remotely requires a good deal of trust and a basis to form that trust. I will only deal on known sites, CGN and Alberta Outdoors, with extensive trader ratings. Craig's list, Kijiji, Facebook, deals are face to face only cause you have no idea who is on the other end. Also, not wise to show up with 4 grand in your pocket without a buddy and some backup options for protection.

My Trader history might not show it but I have done LOTS of deals on here, none of them face to face. Never had an issue until now, I'm familiar with buying and selling online. As I said previously I think with Chris's help above this issue is handled.
I saw a trader rating of 2. I can only go by what I can see and what you tell us, which wasn't much. Had no idea you were an online 9th Dan, Ninja level trader. So, in that case, carry on camping and my apologies for trying to be of help.

The fact he texted you without you giving him the number should be clue number 1. Tell him you or a friend will bring cash and meet face to face, that'll tell you for sure.
