I just bought a 28 Nosler ...

MBM Super Beast is the way to go and since you want to keep it light get one in Titanium it will weigh only 2 oz. All listed bullets are great. For matches shooting a 180gr ELD-M in a 26" Wilson 1-8" twist barrel my velocity node is 3,227 fps with Retumbo. The 162 gr ELD-X would be SCREAMING !

It's a Savage Ultra Light with the Proof Carbon wrapped barrel , just a hunting gun . I'm new to this caliber , but it seemed to check off a lot of boxes .
I have a Nikon Black FX1000 scope , but thinking maybe it needs a lighter scope . I also have an Accupoint 4x16 . I ordered ADT brass and RCBS dies , and have several different bullets . I'm thinking ELDX 180 to start with ? I have VLD 168's and Partition 160's , and ELDX 162's and 150's with RL25 and 19 , plus H4831SC . Of course I'll start low and work up , off several loading charts .
Anybody have any input on what might work bet ? Just trying to get a head of the game , I'm sure someone has this all figured out already .
Oh , and it's a 1 in 8.4 twist .
Oh part deux , it didn't come with a brake , what would you get for a brake ?
Thanks for any and all input .
I shoot 8133 in mine. Those powders are too fast. R33 had carbon fowling issues with 168's. Might be better with 180 or 190's.

Muzzle break choice is critical. Many guys will not wear ear muffs when they hunt, and the side discharge breaks put out a horrendous amount of concussions. The Gentry muzzle break throws much of the concussion forward, but they are a radial type of break, not for laying on the ground.

Protect your ears.

I use H1000 or Retumbo powder. 168 VLD Bergers and 162 ELDX shot best in my 1:8.5 twist Fierce. Couldn't really get the heavier bullets to group well. It is a great cartridge. I use a Thunderbeast Ultra 9 suppressor to keep it fun. Many 28 Noslers do not have a long enough chamber to handle the longer bullets, like 195's.

Another vote for RL33 fed 215 and 195 bergers. If your only looking at 500 yds max, seems like a different cartridge could be a better choice. Its like driving a Ferrari to the grocery store in traffic...Your really not getting there any faster than an old k type car from Chrysler...

N570 is good stuff in a 28N, H1000 right behind it. Brake is a must have. I shoot the 195 Berger Elite Hunter and the 169 Hammer Hunter in mine. The 195s over N570 or H1000 and the HH over N570. To properly seat either it would been to be chambered with a longer throat than SAAMI, otherwise they will be down in the powder. The 8.4 Twist is enough to shoot either.

Nice! I have a Browning Hells Canyon in 28 Nosler and I love it. I do not have to tell you that the 28 Nosler is a 7mm beast! The good news is you can shoot most anything on the planet. Bad news is it's tough on barrels and has a short bbl life. With heavy bullets you will get the best performance out of the very slowest powders: RL 33, LRT, US 869, etc. I have tons of H870 (no longer made) and I am averaging 3,275 fps with 175 ELD-X bullets. With 150 Swift Scirocco II's I am averaging 3,414 fps with LRT. Find yourself some brass and get some slow burning powder and you will be pleased.
