Good job! The coyote invasion east of the MS river has simply exploded through the past 2 decades, and it has cost a lot of game their young. The old family farms in the South that had numerous quail, turkeys, rabbits, etc have seen their numbers dwindle, and some have no small game left. Coyotes are everywhere and their songs echo through the nights.
Snaring, trapping etc is a dying art, so I am glad to see a few people who still can. Reminds me of my youth.

Between coyotes and feral pigs, quail in Central Texas don't stand a chance and have been utterly decimated. We used to have 2-300 bird seasons. Now, you never hear a call anymore except for a few properties where folks raise and release birds. We don't even bother to hunt the family property anymore for bobwhite. Sad...
On the other hand, pigs and coyotes provide targets aplenty. My brother can shoot pigs off his back porch across the pond.

Small world. I ran a trapline in Carroll county, OH in the early 70's, when I was young. Near Malvern and Delroy. I went in the military and have not trapped since. This thread brings back good memories.
Last few yrs I give up deer hunting to trap. That beaver in the one picture. He was over 60 pds I snared him. Give me some snares I am happy. Trap prices has went up. Now a dz #5 coilspring beaver traps 240.00 to 300.00. Dz of 330 belisle body traps 300.00 I got to go to national trapping convention. Stuff alot cheaper there. I think I spent close to 8 or 900.00 1 dz new duke Square jaw 4 coilspring 1/2 dz duke 110 280, 330, 1dz #11 sleepy creek few more traps. Building supplies for snare making. The rest was spent on trapping lure and bait alot of lure. I was like a kid in the candy store walking in that place. Bought several used traps. Just put new springs on them ajust the pan. I can talk trapping all the time. This coyote is nice coyote for Arkansas. First coyote I ever caught was all black coyote.
