Hunting with the 6.5/06

this week i tried IMR 7828 with good results 52 gr with a 140 gr remington cor lok seem like 3020 from a 25" bbl.. pressure looks good on primer and extration was smooth-- I used 53.5 gr of imr 7828 with a 130 AB 3050 I am happy . in the 6.5/284 IMR 7828 54 gr with the 140 vel about 3000 . with the 120 in the 6.5/284 had to use Imr 4831 to get 3195. one rifle is a remington 700 and the 6.5/284 is savage 111 long action 24" tube.. I do want to try Rl 26 as soon as I can find it..

Get a 6.5PRC. Almost matches my 6.5-06AI velocities. Since my AI is a heavy barrel, I'm thinking of building a sporter weight in PRC. No reason to go AI these days.

You got something wrong then, a 6.5x06AI will get 3150 easily with H1000 and a 140 Berger in a 26" barrel and accurate.
