I'm wondering how to securely lock the lock rings on my RCBS dies?? It's frustrating when the lock ring hasn't held its position when I reinsert my RCBS FL sizing die in my press. My rings have brass hex head set screws, and I tighten them as tight as possible with the hex wrench provided. I don't even know if blue Loctite would help.

Ditch the RCBS ring, as it will strip very easily and get the hornady lock rings. They utilize a much larger cross bolt instead of a set screw. Just my .02
Yep, I changed all of my dies, including custom, with Hornady's lock rings. It is the best and easiest fix.

to go with QuietTexan idea ; if you have a piece of lead , try it . a small piece of shot , for loading shotgun shells . maybe a piece of lead from a pellet , or pistol bullet . go to your mechanic an ask for an old wheel weight . heck , maybe a piece of solder would work .

The easy fix for RCBS lock rings is to purchase steel grub screws, place a #2 lead shot in the hole and screw the grub screw home….tight.
The lead shot stops the screw touching the threads on the die and the lock ring will NEVER move again.
Tip: to loosen the grip of the lead shot, undo the grub screw half a turn and whack the lock ring on your bench or use a soft hammer and the lock ring will turn freely.

Cheers.

I have found the McJ tools lock rings to be some of the best out there they can be found on Amazon fairly cheap and they come in a set of 6

That is another good alternative, and I have looked at them before to try. But for the same price, I stayed with Hornady (also comes in a set of 6) to keep them all the same.

Best solution is Hornady lock rings. Short term solution is lead shot between the die body and set screw.
