How often do you clean your suppressor?

I have not cleaned the 30 cal yet I have the threads when I take it off but that is it. The 22 I cleaned after a couple hundred rounds to just see how dirty it was. The rim fires are the dirtiest of rifles. I am just an average shooter, I don't shoot competition or anything like that. The guys who make them do and they said not a big concern with most cans. So probably treat mine like my gun. Clean it when necessary

Thanks

Buck

I just cleaned my thunder beast can for the first time. It's a fully sealed unit. I followed the directions on cleaning and it worked but it wasn't necessary having just 400 rounds through it. I'd suggest weighing it when new/clean, and when it gets 1 oz heavier, follow the manufacturer's cleaning instructions. Even though I'd be willing to bet most, if not all, people wouldn't have an issue if you never clean (have read some stories), I personally wouldn't wait much longer than that, because it's easy to do and keeps it running as intended.

I ran my Silencerco Saker through a few cycles in an ultrasonic cleaner with ZEP. I think it lost 1.4 oz.

I don't notice any difference. There was some light rusting on the ring that secures it, but otherwise, no worse for wear.

How, exactly do you clean a sealed suppressor

I clean mine every 50-100. I know it sounds CRAZY but I have had a pieces dislodge and fall into the action and chamber. Since then, I clean it, clean it often, keep it in that condition, and never worry about it.

I've seen manufacturers say that you shouldn't shoot 22 RF in a sealed centerfire can, but to clean a unsealed 22 RF can on a regular basis. My monocore YH Mite has to be cleaned after every couple hundred rounds, or it doesn't want to come apart.

I recently cleaned my TBAC 22 takedown can after about 4K rounds and it was heavy and dirty.
The amount of material that came out of it was unbelievable.
I did the vinegar/peroxide method. It broke everything up really nicely.
My big sealed can, TBAC says really shouldn't need it (full house loads should blow the junk out) but if it does need it they offer a cleaning service.

Never cleaned my rifle cans, my 30 cal can has gained a couple ounces over a few thousand rounds. My 223 can I have no idea it never comes off its host
