Hornady Load Data PLEEZ 7mmRM 162gr A-Max

Gents,

The gunshops are out of Hornady books up here, I am desperate to start loading for my new BAR in 7mmrem Mag. I have 162gr Hornady A-Max and the following powder.

RL-25

IMR-4831

IMR-4350

N-160

Any help is appreciated.

It appears RL-25 & IMR 4831 will produce top velocities, according to Hornady 7th edition, with the powders you listed.

RL-25 low end, (59.4 gr for 2600 fps) high end (69.3 gr for 3000 fps SAAMI MAX)

IMR 4831 low end (51.7 gr for 2600 fps) high end (60.6 gr for 3000 fps SAAMI MAX)

I have never loaded for a BAR before, does anyone have any advice? I have read much about accuracy limitations with respect to the action but I am going to do my best to make this thing shoot bugholes. If anyone has been down this road any help would be appreciated.

Ive found the best accuracy and fps combo with all 160 class bullets using H1000 out of my 7mm rm's. I have two sweet spot loads one is 69.3 and the other is 70.4 using cci 200 primers and win brass just kissing the lands. Always start low and work up with caution.

A good friend of mine had the same rifle and it shot very well. I watched him kill several deer past 600 yds with his. I don't have the data for it anymore but we had an accuracy load with imr 4350 and the 162. Going by my data for the other 7 mags I have loaded for retumbo and 4831 both give more velocity than the 4350 but if you have trouble shrinking your groups you may try the 4350. I haven't played with the h1000 in 7 mag so can't comment there. Good luck
