I only have experience with 2 deer. A decent size whitetail doe around 70-75 yards, and a nice bodied buck around 35 yards. I was shooting subsonic from a 10" AR using H110. The Doe ran about 80 yards, with a complete pass through on a broadside shot. The buck only went about 30. I shot him quartering to me and found the bullet under the hide, with a retained weight of 178-179 grains.
On both deer the bullet appeared to tumble according to the wound cavity on the inside. However, the recovered bullet showed expansion as expected, along with the tumbling. I would not hesitate to use them again on deer, but I have since moved to Lehigh defense 194 ME.
I made the switch mostly due to availability, but since switching I'm sticking with them because of the accuracy and consistency of opening. I only have a sample of 1 deer and 1 raccoon with the Lehigh, but the both were complete passthrough. Internal damage seemed more with the Lehigh. I was able to recover the bullet shot through the raccoon, he was in my barn and lined him up with some cardboard before the shot so I could see what the bullet looked like as it exited. It left a perfectly "mushroomed" hole and lodged itself into a 6x6 post where I was able to dig it out.
