Hi Y'all, been watchin' this forum for a while and finally had a question you might be able to answer. I have an opportunity to obtain a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe in .270 Wby Mag for CHEAP. Since I don't own what I'd consider a long range rifle (mostly .308 & one .270 Win) I was wondering if the Weatherby would work out to 1,000 meters. Ballistics call for a 26 MOA drop at 1,000, still supersonic, with retained energy of about 700 ft lb. This may get a Coyote but I'm not sure it would be good for anything else. Also wondering about long range accuracy from the typical thin 26" Weatherby barrel. Thoughts?
