Hi from Az

Like our rattlers, lol!!! Be safe out there!!!

That I know too well. I've met one up close, we had a bitting encounter LOL. Easter weekend 2016 camping in the foothills of the Santa Ritas while gathering firewood, a pretty and large Diamonback.

Thick and tall grass concealed her too well, only noticed her when I stepped on her and she striked my left leg. Luckily most of the venom was released outside as I jumped backwards and it dripped down my leg. 17:45pm, 30+ minutes after the bite is when we met ambulance and they marked a circle to track swelling. It was one expensive easter weekend LOL.

My nurse made the best joke ever because I was wearing a pair of hiking shoes with camo on them and she said:

Yup, that camo sure worked well, didnt it?

So yes everyone, be careful!

Every opening day of quail hunting for 12 straight years, I ran into one of a few varieties of rattlers, mostly western diamondbacks. I used to shoot them, but don't unless I have a larger group of hunters just out of "screaming like a little kid" range. I've had my hand on quail in a bush, only to realize the quail way laying on a coiled snake. Yeesh!!! Too many close calls. I spend a lot of time looking for snakes in season, than looking at coveys busting around me.
