I have these dent on my shoulders. I'm not sure what they are from as my brass is only 2 times fired. I normally shoot Cci 400 primer no issues. I have some Cci 450 I decided to work a load up which I'm .6 tenths of grain lighter than the Cci 400 since the Cci 450 are magnum primers. I attached pictures to see what other thoughts are? The dents are not from resizing only appears after firing. Also, Is the brass trash? In case anyone ask my speed on the Cci 400 are 2645 and the speeds with the Cci 450 is 2609

If you don't have a scope run a brush/ mop and see if it's still there after you fire a case. I had a brass shaving in mine once caused a weird imprint. That dent will form out on the next firing, nothing to worry about.

When I saw your post title…..my mind immediately went to high recoil! 😂 Then realized the intent! 😉

As to an answer to your question…..I got nutt'n! But, was. curious as to what others may say! It seems that it was an easy an very logical fix! Congrats! memtb

This may not be related, but I was getting dents in my 7mm rem mag brass shoulders when I was running them through the reloading die......turned out that my spray case lube was getting on the shoulders.....now I am careful not to get lube on the shoulder
Lube on the entire piece of brass is good. Excessive lube anywhere, is not.

Happy it worked out. However, we wish we knew what caused it.
Some little piece of crud in there, doesn't really matter what it was, just more important that it is gone.

Ya excessive lube is bad. I had a similar issue when I first started. I would recommend trying the lanolin and alcohol case lube, I've had great success with it.
